N-HOUSE

2013, 3th semester in Hongik Univ.

Personal project

Clients of  the N House are a couple with two sons.

They decided to build a new house in Seoul after living in Gangwon-do for a long time. Seoul is an unfamiliar place to them.

Fortunately, the Wau Mountain nearby the site where the house will be built is familiar to them. Also, communication of family makes them comfortable.

The N-House provides them a life of ease by offering  view of the Wau Mountain and  communication space.

Furthermore, It shows the panorama of Seoul that can be familiar place.

How do you want to live?
Once, I want to live healthily. I hope to spend the rest of the time jogging or exercising.

Aren't you worried about something when living in Seoul?
I have not lived in Seoul. So I have no neighbors. And the air is not fresh in Seoul.

Do you like a panorama of buildings looked down at?

When I lived in a fourteen-story apartment, the view from the window was so nice.

What kind of house do you want?

I need a parking lot. I want a house with good ventilation.

If my house is too close to next house, private life will be exposed. I don't want it.

And I wish a sunshiny space and  wide prospect.

Do you have a room you want to care?
I hope a rooftop for barbecues and a vegeable gerden.

Also, I need a room for treadmill and golf practice.

A residential area is located in north and west of the site. On the other hand, south and east of the site is the Wau Mountain. the Wau Moountain has a walk and sport facilities for basketball, badminton, etc. Altitude becomes lower toward north and west. So we can look down at nearly buildings and see a distant place at the 2~3 floor of the site.

see the view of southeast and Mt. Wau in all spaces.

maintain connection with the outside.

and form new outhdoor spaces for family communication, parking, existing tree and etc.

apply height difference to separate private spaces of family but share the space of communication visually.

enhance accessibility and availability of the rooftop.
